Our analysis incorporates multiple performance metrics including Pro Bowl selections, All-Pro honors, PFF grades, games played, approximate value, and position-specific statistics to create a comprehensive ranking of the 2019 draft class.
Methodology
Our redraft is based on a composite scoring system that weighs various performance metrics:
- Career Approximate Value (35%): A metric that attempts to put a single number on a player's career value
- Pro Bowl Selections (15%): Number of times selected to the Pro Bowl
- All-Pro Selections (20%): Number of times selected as an All-Pro
- PFF Grades (15%): Average PFF grade over career
- Games Started (5%): Total number of games started
- Seasons as Primary Starter (10%): Number of seasons as a primary starter
We also applied position value adjustments to reflect the modern NFL's valuation of different positions, with quarterbacks, edge rushers, and offensive tackles receiving higher weightings than running backs and linebackers.
